Female chemsist
rosalind franklin was born in notting hill, london in 1920. she dies in chelsea, london in 1958, she was only 37 when she died of cancer. Rosalind is famous for her discoveries in the structure of DNA. she also made extremely important contributions in the discovery and understanding of the molecular structures of coal and graphite. however franklins discovery of the molecular model she made is rumored to have been stolen. there is speculation that james watson and maurice wilkins stole her model and used it to win the nobel prize.
Franklin also worked as a researcher and teacher at kings college. she first started working on the x-ray diffraction of proteins and lipids, but was redirected to the structure of DNA. if she was not redirected some of the contributions she set forth to the molecular structure of coal and graphite might not have been contributed.

Bill Nye the Science guy
when i think of a scientist the first person who pops in my head is obviously bill nye the science guy. Bill nye the science guy didn't make any major contributions to the formal science world that i know of however he helped teach science to many kids all over the country. not only did he teach it but made science fun and interesting to kids. i admire bill nye because as a kid he made me really enjoy science by watching his videos. i also held a girls hand for the first time in 2nd grade during on of his videos so that was kind of a big deal.

my goals
i hope to achieve 2 goals as a sophomore chemist student this year. my greatest goal is to learn to start project and homework the night it's assinged rather than the night before its due. I would also like to be good enough at one of the chapters to where i could teach it to another student.

E- portfolio
Reflection
1. Why is this exhibit a good choice for placement in your e-portfolio?
a. The element super hero was the best placement for my e-portfolio because I actually thought the project was cool therefore I worked hard to really understand and use legit facts to construct the characteristics of my element super hero.
2. What did you find most interesting about this exhibit activity and why?
a. I thought being able to make up the elements background and super powers was really interesting because we had the freedom to be creative and use whatever we thought was cool.
3. In what way(s) did you find this exhibit a challenge to complete?
a. The assignment was challenging to complete because I didn’t start as early as I should of. I was up the night before late finishing my poster. I learned this isn’t what a platinum student would do. I also thought the paper was challenging since we had to make up everything little thing about or super hero.
4. The main challenge of this exhibit was deciding which facts to about the scientist to use in the timeline. We only needed simple phrases or facts about how the scientist changed the knowledge about the atom. Another challenge was working with a partner, who saved everything to do at the last moment.
a. If I was doing this project again I would’ve made my poster nicer looking. The reason I didn’t have an immaculate poster was because I waited until the night before to start. I also would’ve started earlier if I got to do the project again.
5. What change(s) in attitude or behavior helped you to meet the challenge?
a. My attitude was positive about the project because I thought it was a cool project. This helped me focus and try hard to not only complete it but do a good job.
6. What grade would you give yourself for these reflections, from “1” to “4”, where “4” is the best? (Refer to the E-Portfolio Reflection Rubric.)Give specific evidence explaining why you gave yourself that grade.
a. I would give myself a 3 ½ because I told it like it was. I admitted my project was perfect because I waited so long. I also spent at least 30 minutes working on this to make a good, honest platinum student like reflection.
